CVM scientists honored at Standing InnOvation Awards

Seventeen UF College of Veterinary Medicine faculty, researchers, biological scientists and veterinary scholars were honored as part of UF Innovate’s 2025 Standing InnOvation event in October to shine a light on the university’s brightest entrepreneurs.

Standing InnOvation annually offers a ‘standing ovation’ for innovators who have worked with UF Tech Licensing to turn brilliant ideas into reality. For the eighth straight year, UF Innovate honored those who have disclosed, licensed or optioned a technology in the last fiscal year.

This year’s celebration marked the third year also recognizing innovators who have received an issued U.S. patent, including CMV associate professor John Bowden, Ph.D – Treating Per- and Poly-Fluoroalkyl Substances in Landfill Leachate – and research associate professor Bikash Sahay, D.V.M., Ph.D. – Surface Layer Protein a (SlpA) as a Therapeutic Agent for the Treatment of Inflammatory Diseases.
