Basic science research contributes to our understanding of the fundamental underlying principals of biology, medicine, and veterinary medicine. Our college offers a variety of programs in basic science research, which is conducted in three of our five college departments: the Department of Infectious Diseases and Immunology, the Department of Physiological Sciences and the Department of Comparative, Diagnostic and Population Medicine. Faculty associated with these departments also collaborate with researchers in other colleges on the UF campus, primarily the College of Medicine, as well as with the greater national and international scientific community.
