General Information

FALL 2022 CEREMONY SCHEDULE

Friday, December 16th at 2pm – Doctoral Ceremony in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center

Colleges that will be recognized: All

Schedule:

  • Candidate & Escort Assembly: Gate 4 will open for candidates and escorts at 12:30pm. Candidates should wear regalia (but carry their hood draped over their left arm). Bring your name card, wear your regalia with the tassel on the left. Escorts should arrive in full regalia. Candidate & escort processional: 1:40pm onto the arena floor.
  • Guest Admission: Gate 1 will open for guests at 12:30pm. 
  • Tickets: At this time we do not anticipate ticketing nor restricting the per-grad guest count. However, if CDC guidelines change, we may need to adjust these plans. We will inform our students and guests if these changes become necessary.

What happens at this ceremony (the highlights)?

  • President Fuchs presides over the ceremony
  • Faculty speaker gives the commencement address
  • Degrees are conferred
  • Each new doctor is recognized individually and hooded by their faculty mentor as they walk across the stage and appear on the Jumbotron

Friday, December 16th at 7pm- Master/Specialist/Bachelor Ceremony in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center

Colleges that will be recognized: HHP; CJC; NURS; PHHP; VET; WCB

Schedule:

  • Candidate Assembly: Bring your name card, wear your regalia. Master’s candidates- wear your hood, make sure your tassel is on the left.
  • Guest Admission: Gates 1 & 3 will open for guests at 5:30pm.
  • Tickets: At this time we do not anticipate ticketing this ceremony. However, if CDC guidelines were to change, we would adjust to meet those expectations. If any changes are made, we will inform grads and guests.

What happens at this ceremony (the highlights)?

  • President Fuchs presides over the ceremony
  • Faculty speaker gives the commencement address
  • Degrees are conferred, bachelor’s degree candidates turn their tassel from right to left
  • Graduates walk across the stage, have their name called, and appear on the Jumbotron

Ordering and Picking Up Regalia

Regalia must be ordered through the UF Bookstore. When ordering you must provide height and weight. Make sure your order is submitted by the deadline to guarantee on time delivery. The Bookstore requires that you present your Gator1ID card when you pick up your order. Someone else can collect your regalia if he/she provides your Gator1ID card.

The deadline to order regalia for Fall 2022 MS/PhD Commencement Ceremonies is October 20th. Pick-up at the UF bookstore is open from December 12th-17th.

Returning Regalia

  • Doctoral Gown and Hood orders are due back to the UF Bookstore December 19 by 5 PM. Your tassel, tam/cap are yours to keep.
  • Masters Cap & Gown Orders: All Masters Regalia is purchased and yours to keep.

Information for Guests

  • Handicapped accessible or Special Seating is available.
  • For those requiring special accommodations please arrive early and contact an usher for assistance.
  • No smoking, food or drinks are allowed in the theater.
  • Unless CDC guidelines change, we do not expect to restrict the number of guests per candidate at either ceremony.
