Research

We offer a broad variety of programs at the UF College of Veterinary Medicine aimed at generating new knowledge, both basic and applied. These programs relate to the health of domestic animals and wildlife, insuring a safe food supply, and finding a cure for certain human diseases. Our faculty have important collaborations both with the UF Health Science Center and the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) that have enabled us to continually sharpen and strengthen these programs.

clinical research

Learning opportunities for veterinary and comparative medical research.

Our applied research is aimed at shedding light on spontaneous disease in animal patients, with possible implications for human health as well.

Translational research

Programs in basic science research are conducted in two of our five academic departments.

Basic science research contributes to our understanding of the fundamental underlying principals of biology, medicine, and veterinary medicine.
